Crystal Creek Homeowners and Taylor Park Reservoir Operations

SWE has represented the Crystal Creek Homeowners and Ernest Cockrell on water right matters since 1988.  They are property owners located along the Taylor River downstream of Taylor Park Reservoir and own water rights on the Taylor River.  Issues have included Taylor Park Reservoir water rights and operations.  The reservoir is operated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in cooperation with the Upper Gunnison Water Conservancy District. 

SWE has conducted investigations and provided engineering support related to reservoir operations, administration of water rights on the river and various water court applications.  An evaluation of available water supply in the basin for the Union Park Project, claimed by east slope interests, was made with a basin modeling analysis.  Expert witness testimony was provided in Division 4 Water Court.  SWE continues to provide ongoing engineering support representing Crystal Creek in various cases initiated by the United States and Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District for integrated operations of Taylor Park Reservoir and the Aspinall Unit reservoirs
